My name is Scot Holliday. I created this website to share my personal story through poetry, music, art and movement. The practice of reflecting and expressing creativity helps us each know ourselves better, become happier, and share the feeling with the world around us. I enjoy learning new arts and improving at ones I am already familiar with. I sometimes write poetry daily for a year, stop for a few years, and then circle back to it again.
For 15 years I have played a flute called the Bansuri, originating in the country of India, and made out of bamboo, although I still consider myself a beginner at playing it. I also enjoy making this style of flute once in a while. I like learning new styles of wind instruments. I recently learned how to play the Australian didgeridoo made from the Eucalyptus tree.
I enjoy doing movement arts, such as, tai chi and qigong. I have practiced them off and on for 22 years. I tend to practice them more when I am healing an injury. They are both great for daily exercise too. I do whitewater kayaking, snow skiing, hiking and calisthenics for fun and great health. When I am doing those sports they all feel like an artistic expression to me.
I like doing video journaling on youtube of adventures I do with my family and ones I do on my own as well. Our whole lives we should all be learning something new each year, expressing our creativity, doing movement and living life to its fullest.
