Creativity is an integral part of my life. I feel a seamless connection between art, meditation, exercise, positive visioning, personal potential and happiness. In this section I share some of the things I do to express my artistic side including: song writing, playing and making flutes, didgeridoo, painting, meditation, qigong, sacred gem & mineral art, and leather craft. Poetry is such a powerful and useful to share teachings and energy with people, I made separate sections for that on this website. To check out my pocket size books for sale on Amazon see MYBOOKS. For some of my poetry see POETRY.
Song Writing
“The Heart is a Window”. I wrote this song in April 2019. I asked one friend if she would sing it to bring the song to life, and another friend to make it into a video format with pictures. I feel it came out great. It seems to be easier to follow if you read the words first, then listen to the song. The song is a transmission of self-love and unconditional love. Below is a pdf file with words, and the song in a youtube video format.

Flute
I enjoy playing and making flutes with bamboo. I have been making Indian bansuri and traditional flutes from bamboo for 10 years. The last 5 years I have focused on playing Scottish and Western music. Here is a link to my flute channel on youtube https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCb_RW2dvjj-enB5NNdY3ubw
Here is one of my favorite songs, “Scotland the Brave” played on Bamboo flute in Key of D. I also made the flute.
Didgeridoo
I attempted to learn didgeridoo 20 years and could not learn the circular breathing. In 2021 I tried again while working with a teacher, Lies Beijerinck. With Lies support I was able to learn circular breathings and get a nice drone. Here is a short video of me playing in the key of E. I am a beginner and enjoy the feeling of playing the didge.
Painting
Paintings to connect with the elements and the cosmos.
Meditation
To me meditation is aligning one’s mind, body and spirit. I see the spirit as the same thing as the soul, the part of us that exists after our bodies die, and existed before we each had a body.
In the Chinese view, the energy of the body chi/qi is different than the soul. Our bodies have energy that helps it function. When our body dies, the physical body qi returns to the earth along with the molecules of our body. Physical exercise, a healthy diet, good sleep, thinking positive, being loving, and being in nature, all support strengthening our body chi. Mind-body-spirit practices also focus on strengthening the chi.
Our spiritual chi or soul is different, and lives on without the physical body. The soul is more subtle. In order to feel the soul, one has to quiet the nervous system, relax one’s emotion, and allow the mind to be quiet. Once the body, emotions and mind are quiet, you can sense what is remaining. That more subtle energy is the soul. When we connect to our own heart and intuition, we are connecting to the soul. One can align his or her mind and body to one’s spirit. Maintaining that alignment strengthens one’s physical chi.
We must learn to be conscious of the part of us that is the soul while we have a body, and learn to control our own consciousness. If we do not, then once we leave the body, we will not be conscious either. Earth is a training ground for the soul to become more conscious. What we do, think and act of does affect others and our own path. That is why the training is so valuable. It is authentic.
I created a series of video on youtube teaching how to meditate. The channel is called the “Light Meditation Channel”. It is a play on words. When you meditate, it increases the amount of energy or light we can access and feel. When we lighten up or take a more happy view towards life, we have more energy and feel better. Thinking and feeling positive helps us each embody more of our soul and physical chi. Link to the meditation videos https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL2yiTCr8lRLv53-U5cP7HjCR8ViT9ZmwS
Two years ago I was teaching an Energy Gates qigong class to a group of students. I told one of the students that when we do qigong, we can gather chi and store, just like love. She corrected me and said, when you are connected to the source of love, the universe, then you never run out of love. There is an infinite amount of love and you cannot run out. I felt what she was saying and it opened my heart further. Since that day, I have felt that I cannot run out of love and love is like a musical note we can all tune into. I now feel that physical chi is the same way. We can just intend to gather our physical chi/qi and allow it to happen. One does not need to do a physical movement to gather physical/body chi. You can just do it by intending to do it. When our physical chi is stronger, it is easier to relax and feel the more subtle aspects of one’s being, such as the soul.
Personally I like to do different physical exercises and hobbies that inspire me, and align my mind-body-spirit. Sometimes I will just stand up, feel the earth below me, the cosmos around me, feel my body; then relax and let myself physically energize. In qigong that would be called dropping one’s chi. It is a standard way of energizing in many spiritual traditions.
The most powerful and easiest way to energize one’s body and to connect to one’s own spirit or soul is through our own thoughts. Our individual mind is like the rudder on a boat, the steering wheel on a car, or our feet. What we think about creates our individual perception of reality. Our thoughts attract our own experiences. I try to see the day going well, be loving all the time, and look for ways to serve and help others.
One trick to thinking positive is to avoid double negatives in thought. When you are driving, if you think, “I hate bad drivers and bad traffic”, then you will attract them. It is better to think,”I enjoy good traffic and being around careful drivers”, then you will attract them. It works that way with all of life.
Qigong
Cloud Hands from Energy Gates Qigong/Neigong
Since 1998, I have practiced meditation, qigong, neigong, tai chi and yoga. From 2000 to 2002, I worked as a therapist utilizing shiatsu, qigong tui na and orthobionomy to aid people in reducing their stress, and heal from injuries. At the time I focused on assisting people to recover from repetitive stress injuries and injuries from automobile accidents. I worked with 800 people. The experience working as a therapist made me more sensitive to how energy moves in the body and how the body recovers from injury and releases blockages.
The last few years I have practiced mainly meditation, qigong and neigong. My main teachers for healing and movement arts have been Aaron Green, Susan Kansky and B.K. Frantzis (click on their highlighted names to learn about their background). I am certified by B.K. Frantzis through Energy Arts to teach Energy Gates- Level 1 and Dragon and Tiger- Level 1. In the picture at the top of page I am demonstrating a basic part of Energy Gates Qigong called âCloud Handsâ. Currently I am not holding regular classes. I am available for private instruction. I will be holding weekly classes in the future in DC. If you are interested in me starting one, please let me know. My contact info in on the Energy Arts website.See https://goo.gl/FeTZvt
âEnergy Gates Qigong is a 3,000-year-old self-healing qigong (chi gung) system from China. This qigong practice is for those who are serious about learning tai chi, qigong or any form of energy work. Energy Gates Qigong is a part of our core qigong program because it teaches the fundamentals of how to activate and harness chi, your life-force energy, to improve health, reduce stress and reverse the effects of aging. Dragon and Tiger Medical Qigong is a 1,500-year-old self-healing movement system based on acupuncture. It is sometimes called âmeridian-line qigongâ because it helps free you of energetic (chi) blockages by balancing the chi flow that runs through the acupuncture meridians or energy channels of your body.
This powerful qigong (chi gung) set offers about 80 percent of the benefits of longer, more complex forms, but in just seven simple movements that are relatively easy to learn for astounding health benefits not found in most Western exercise systems.
Dragon and Tiger Qigongâs seven movements literally trace the acupuncture lines of your body to move and disperse stagnant chi. The movements are easy to learn yet challenging enough to keep Dragon and Tiger Qigong interesting for ongoing practice. Here is a playlist of videos I have created related to qigong, neigong, energy alignments and breathing. When I teach I often give students videos to refer to for reminders and inspiration.
